HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR WATCH STRAPS?

Caring for your bracelets is an important step that contributes fully to the longevity of your watch. Many factors come into play: the quality of the materials, the acidity of your skin, the climate, the frequency with which you wear your watch... So many factors that can easily and quickly alter your watch straps. Therefore, it is important to take the utmost care of them and to clean them regularly.

CERAMIC OR METAL BRACELETS

First of all, check that the crown of your watch is screwed down and pushed in. You can clean your ceramic or metal bracelet with soapy water, rubbing gently with a soft bristle brush. Scrub gently, then rinse thoroughly and dry your bracelet with a soft cloth.

LEATHER BRACELETS

Leather is a natural material that develops a patina over time. Nevertheless, it is necessary to take certain precautions when using it. Damp environments are not recommended. Indeed, the shape and colour of your leather strap may change as a result of contact with water. We therefore advise you to remove your watch when washing your hands or taking a shower. The care of your leather strap varies according to its type of leather. There is a significant difference between aniline leather and other leathers. Aniline leather is open and allows water to penetrate freely into the leather. The use of water for cleaning should therefore be avoided in order to avoid stains. Leather straps with smooth grains can be cleaned with a soft damp cloth. Once this part of the cleaning process has been completed, we recommend using a leather spray or leather milk so that a closed protective film is built up on the strap. This film will protect your bracelet from dirt, moisture and sunlight. Once this application has been made, wipe your bracelet with a soft cloth to polish it.

NUBUCK LEATHER STRAPS

Nubuck leather does not require the same care as smooth leather. This type of leather is more porous and will mark more easily when in direct contact with certain products. We therefore recommend that you gently brush your bracelet in order to release the fibre and thus release the dust. Afterwards, you can wipe your bracelet with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Once the leather is dry, you can brush your bracelet one last time in the desired direction. Leather and nubuck leather straps should not be dried near a radiator or any other heat source.
