CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR YOUR STRAPS
The care of your straps is an important step that fully contributes to the longevity of your watch. Many factors come into play: the quality of the materials, the acidity of your skin, the climate, the frequency with which you wear your watch... So many factors that can easily and quickly alter your watch straps.
It is therefore important to take the greatest care of them and to clean them regularly.
HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR WATCH STRAPS?
- Ceramic or metal straps :
First check that the ring of your watch is screwed in and pushed in. You can clean your ceramic or metal strap with soapy water, by gently rubbing it with a soft-bristled brush. Rub in gently, then rinse thoroughly and dry your strap with a soft cloth.
- Leather straps :
Leather is a natural material that patches over time. Nevertheless, it is necessary to take certain precautions when using it.
Wetlands are not recommended. Indeed, the shape and colour of your leather strap may change following contact with water.
We recommend that you remove your watch when washing your hands or taking a shower.
The care of your leather strap varies according to its type of leather. A significant difference is to be taken into account between aniline leather and other leathers. Indeed, aniline leather is open and allows water to freely penetrate the leather. The use of water for cleaning is therefore to be avoided in order not to get stains.
Smooth grain leather straps can be cleaned with a damp soft cloth. Once this part of the cleaning is complete, we recommend that you use a leather spray or milk for the leather so that a closed protective film is built up on the strap. This film will protect your strap from dirt, moisture or even sunlight. Once this application is done, wipe your strap with a soft cloth to polish it.
- Nubuck leather straps :
Nubuck leather does not require the same care as smooth leather. This type of leather is more porous and will mark more easily in case of direct contact with certain products. We recommend that you gently brush your strap to release the fibre and thus release the dust. Afterwards, you can wipe your strap with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Once the leather is dry, you can brush your strap one last time in the desired direction.
Leather and nubuck leather straps should not be dried near a radiator or other heat source.
It's done! Your watch straps are embellished and are once again ready to accompany you on a daily basis in the best conditions.
